I have worked in Special Education for the past 15 years as a Bilingual School Psychologist and Social Worker.

My experiences include conducting functional assessments, self management, and group contingency plans. Establishing operations, challenging behavior, systems support, and discrete trial training, as well as school and classroom applications. Conducting bilingual evaluations. Skilled in both individual counseling and group sessions, with a strong expertise in Autism. I have served as a senior level Bilingual School Psychologist serving children between the ages of 0 to 5 & containing four satellite programs in two locations, with supervisory responsibility for staff psychologists and special education teachers. I have trained therapists in Applied Behavior Analysis and Discrete Trial Teaching methodology and applications for use.

Although I am NOT an attorney, I represent the school districts at impartial hearings, including but not limited to: preparing documents, applications and evidence and making presentations in court.

I play an instrumental role in the following educational services:

• designing effective behavior plans for increasing a child’s positive emotions experiences and behavior

• providing play therapy using advanced and empirically supported behavioral and cognitive methods.

• helping parents obtain various services and making appropriate referrals.

• successfully lobbying the NY State Assembly for support of new programs and classes.

• forging deep and solid ties to parents by providing them with empowering information and encouraging them to serve as advocates for their children.

• training preschool teachers in developing new methods and approaches in teaching science and nature in the preschool classroom.
